Muse bites

Live. Each moment.

With around a fortnight to go, 2016 has almost completed a quarter. Another year winding fast down on the Roman calendar, with all its festivals and seasons (Oh, how this heat kills 🙁 ). I would like to pose just one question here, how many of us have lived this year the way we promised ourselves in the beginning?

At the birth of every new year, our heart sees a ray of hope; hope for new beginnings, hopes to strengthen present bonds, hope for second chances, and a better life.. But that ray of hope dies out like the spark from a lit up matchstick instead of blossoming out into a flood of sunshine it should be. Why is that so? Is it that we have no zest for living, or that we simply don’t care?

When people are asked for the reason, the answer invariably seems to be the lack of time under the pretext of being busy, or the pride in believing that spoil comes after toil ; when a long life stretches ahead the task in hand is to save first and to spend later.  But people, come on, wake up!!

Time, as Einstein successfully proved, is relative. If you are going to keep yourself occupied with some work or the other, you are going to keep being busy. Looking at your paycheque and that bonus would not radiate less joy than the memories of simple barbeque times you could have had with your wife and kids on a Saturday night or a crazy conference call you could have ranted on with your best mates. Take time to do the things you love, may it be a Malibu vacation or a long walk down the road holding the hands of the one you love. Live a life where you can be sure you are not going to have regrets when you look back.

For those of you who have pinned your hopes on the future, remember, tomorrow is as unreliable as the shadow of a person. Whatever you wish to do, try to do it right now! That college reunion will not come again tomorrow, nor will your daughter’s first poem recital. That best friend of yours is not going to wait forever for your call, nor is your girlfriend going to buy your excuses forever.

This is your life. Never submit yourself to pressure, nor resign yourself to fate. Everything is part of your life, may it be your job, friends, family and other activities. Place your priorities right, and never let anything tear you down. Sculpt your days and live each one to the fullest.

CHEERZ, to your life!!!

Much love,

Aishu
