3 entries on your Resume that don’t really matter to Recruiters

Job hunt is a word that is on in most people’s mind. Job hopping too, has become almost a trend. People stay for a specific duration and then start looking out for other jobs. And when you are applying for jobs, what best represents you?

Yes, your resume! In the professional world, the only one thing that speaks for you is your resume. It is often the first process of filtration, and the first medium of communication between you and your potential employer. Preparing your resume can be a tedious job, because you might have a lot of stuff to put in there, but to recruiters who view your resume, we don’t really need it all!! Here are three entries you might have on your resume which don’t really matter to recruiters:

1. THAT career objective

Firstly, objective statements are necessary only when you are making a huge career change. Secondly, objective statements which say too many things, we know it’s just fibbing! You don’t need to put an objective down, and if you feel you really need to, be honest and keep it to the point. DO NOT GO OVERBOARD 😀

2. Trivial hobbies

I am not criticizing anyone here; you have your own rights to do whatever you want in your leisure hours. But putting it down on paper, think about it; reading books, check, painting, check, but listening to music, watching TV, playing trivia games, seriously??!!

3.Obvious skills

Don’t list common technology skills on your resume. We all know how to use MS word and IE!!

Usually, recruiters have to get through hundreds of resumes in a short time, and you would want to fill it with data that catches the eye of your recruiter instead of a lot of ambiguous information. Best of luck with crafting your resume!
